In the early years of the twentieth century Paris, called “a city of art” attracted a lot of artists who dreamed of success from all over the world.
While most of the artists were frustrated in a state of severe poverty, a handful of artists blessed with exceptional ability and distinctive personality fascinated people and achieved great success as artists.
Amid increasing tendency toward for changing world and with the historical background, a lot of artists engaged in fierce competition in a special place like Paris. As a result various isms emerged and artistic movements reached the climax.
Even under such circumstances artists of the School of Paris such as Tsuguharu Foujita, Vlaminck, Kisling and Laurencin never stuck to their principles and position, respected their individuality and tried to express their world within. For these reasons, their works have been gaining popularity and are housed by numerous museums throughout the world nowadays.
