Late Summer Exhibition of the Fantastical and Strange Aug . 27 (Tue.) to Sep. 4 (Wed.)
Ghost stories are an integral part of summer culture in Japan, but this end-of-summer exhibition brings together fantastical works that aren't necessarily scary—perhaps a little bit, but more tragic than frightening. Since ancient times, humans have been drawn to supernatural creatures and spirits, passing down stories about them from one generation to the next. For this exhibition, artists focused on supernatural creatures, spirits and other inhuman beings they imagine living around us. Enjoy unique expression from each artist.
