Ai Haibara was born in Okayama in 1981, and in 2006 she graduated from the Department of Sculpture at the Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School of Fine Arts. She has enthusiastically exhibited her works through solo exhibitions, group exhibitions and other events both domestic and international, garnering widespread attention and experiencing a meteoric rise in popularity thanks to her outstanding expressive capabilities. 
Haibara's works seem to emit a gentle radiance that draws people in, rooted in her ability capture and carefully re-create subtle and fleeting facial expressions and gestures.
