Svend Andersen
Since 1970 Svend Andersen, named “the Watchmaker of the impossible”, has surprised the world with amazing creations and inventions. Just to name a few over more than 40 years of watchmaking, here are some iconic watches he created:
- The WORLD SMALLEST CALENDER Watch. The prototype of this watch is now belonging to the collection of the UHRENMUSEUM BEYER in ZURICH.
- The First Wristwatch with a “SECULAR PERPETUEL CALENDER“ that makes this watch able to display day, date, month and leap-years without adjustment for 400 years - or even 800.
- WORLD TIME WATCHES that tell the time in different cities over the world. Unique or limited editions have been created, like COMMUNICATION 24, CHRISTOPHORUS COLUMBUS and the famous WORLD TIME 1884, the watch that tells history. The World Time Watch is known as one of Andersen’s DNA by watch aficionados and collectors.
- The “Eros” Watch created in 1997 is known as the most animated automaton in a watch ever made. It is still the only of its kind on the market, combining horological skills and high-grade art work.
