HAPPY DRIVE! Tomohiro Todoroki Vehicle Pop Art Exhibition
May. 23 (Thu.) to May. 29 (Wed.)

Tomohiro Todoroki's works are appealing because, the moment you look at them, you just feel happy. This is a feeling free from logic and overthinking—his pictures just feel good!
Through the use of wavering, squiggly lines, which add a unique touch to each depiction, Todoroki aims to re-create that excitement we all feel as children when we look at a car or other such vehicle.
Although his works look like prints at first glance, all of them are individually hand-drawn. Todoroki explains, "I want people to enjoy these pictures for the next hundred years, until my grandchildren's generation," and to this end he carefully colors in each piece, adding on layer after layer of color, in order to impart a bright and vivid pop-art feel.
We hope you will enjoy this unique opportunity to step into the world of a talented vehicle-centered painter—a place brimming with originality and joy.

Tomohiro Todoroki held a five-month solo exhibition in 2013 at The Mille Miglia Museum in Italy, home of the Mille Miglia (one of the world's top car races). He was the first Asian to hold such an exhibition at this museum. Todoroki also had a 2014-15 exhibition of works at the Toyota Automobile Museum, and in 2018 his pieces were added to the archives of Italy's National Automobile Museum (Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile). Ever since, offers have been flooding in from organizers of large-scale events related to automobiles, boats and other vehicles, and Todoroki has become widely recognized as an artist.
