In all eras and countries of the world, the concepts of body and mind are the most universally accepted means of understanding life.
The "little children (doji)" figures that I sculpt serve as symbols of the life energy dwelling within the vessel known as the body—this energy is sometimes called ki (life force), or the soul.
Happiness, enjoyment, and health are all born of these child figures' vitality,
and by viewing their smiling faces every day, it is possible to be further vitalized and invigorated.
