HYKRX got his start as an artist in 1990 by creating music band flyers. Today, he uses spray-painted designs formed with hand-cut stencils while adding subtle touches such as shading and scattered droplets. The artist's works convey clear, unwavering messages while carrying on the tradition of sophisticated stencil-making skills seen often in the street art genre, and express his feelings on the ways in which today's information-centric societal cycles dominate our lives. All of hykrx's work focuses on conveying what the artist observes and feels as he strives to show us more flexible and enjoyable ways to live in an era characterized by demand for positive change and greater speeds. In addition to canvas-based work, hykrx has created numerous murals on the streets of Nara, a city keeps ancient Japanese culture alive in the present era. This is part of the artist's efforts to continuing communicating his unique messages to the world.
