Touko Okamura was born in 1972. After graduating from the Nihon University College of Art's Department of Photography, she began working as an illustrator for magazines and advertisements. From 2005 onward, she began pursuing works based on the themes "a young girl's mind" and "catharsis," which have been shown at numerous exhibitions throughout Japan and abroad. For this event, which is held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Hello Kitty, Okamura presents stirring and nostalgic Hello Kitty art bursting with original expressive techniques.
