The Nihonga G6 Exhibition features works of Nihonga (Japanese painting) from six young, highly talented artists who graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts Department of Nihonga and serve as leaders for the next generation. Each artist skillfully employs Japan's traditional Nihonga painting techniques alongside contemporary forms of expression and materials to weave singular worlds within the pictures they create, and thus advance the field of Nihonga art itself. This exhibition presents roughly 30 new works of art both small and large that are packed with fresh, vibrant character and individuality.
