Introducing a solo exhibition by Mitsuko Kuroki, an artist known for her depictions of milky-white human figures against jet-black backdrops. The exhibition's title, "Sphinx Women," was chosen because the Nihonga (Japanese paintings) shown were inspired by the mythical sphinx. Experience the fantastical world of Kuroki's art, which is characterized by intricate detail coupled with striking dynamism.

This will be Yumi Nagata's first solo exhibition at Artglorieux. Born in Tokyo in 1997, Nagata went on to study Japanese painting in the Tama Art University Department of Painting, from which she graduated in 2021. Her creative theme for this exhibition is "metamorphose," meaning a major transformation or change. While exploring the characteristics and limits of Japanese painting today, the artist also experiments with her personal connections to the art, creating images of young women that combine elements of both Japanese art traditions and contemporary art. Come by and experience her art for yourself at this exhibition.
