A prominent artist in the twentieth-century United States, Ben Shahn created art depicting destitute Americans during the Great Depression, various false conviction cases, and other such subjects and themes. While garnering recognition as an artist focused on social themes, he was also active in fields including publishing and advertising. Shahn inspired Andy Warhol and a great number of other celebrated artists, and his work remains impactful today, roughly a century later. We invite you to experience the world of Ben Shahn for yourself.
