Hasui Kawase was an accomplished woodblock print artist. In 1918, thanks to the kind support of publisher Shozaburo Watanabe, Kawase was able to travel all throughout Japan, and he created a series of woodblock prints based on what he saw and experienced. These works exude a strong sense of nostalgia and have impressed viewers the world over. For this exhibition and sales event, the print shop S. WATANABE Woodcut Prints has carefully selected 25 of Kawase's early prints to showcase. We encourage you to come and see them for yourself.
