This duo exhibition features works of Nihonga (Japanese painting) by Masaki Matsuura and Ayame Higuchi. Through her works, Higuchi explores hidden issues in contemporary society by examining, with plants and animals as her vehicles, the essence of the human inner mind and life force. Matsuura, on the other hand, takes bonsai trees as his subjects, expressing the beauty of negative space and time as well as coexistence between nature and humans. The differing perspectives of these two artists silently give shape to the truths and spirituality buried deep inside visible forms. Experience novel allure and rich worldviews through their unique Nihonga.
