For this exhibition and sales event, carvers and printers from the publisher S. WATANABE Woodcut Prints, together with artists, have selected approximately 30 woodblock prints. Exhibition pieces include selections from bijin-ga (depictions of beautiful women) print artist Shinsui Ito; landscape print artists Shotei Takahashi, Shiro Kasamatsu and Koitsu Ishiwata; kacho-ga (bird and flower depictions) print artist Shoson Ohara; yakusha-e (theatre actor depictions) print artists Shunsen Natori and Tadamasa Ueno (Tadamasa Torii); and others. Don't miss the opportunity to witness the harmony realized between the sensibilities of printmakers and artists as they resonate with sophisticated artisanal skills from creators via this collection of Shin-hanga ("new woodblock prints"). A number of small-format pieces, which have proven popular at past events, will also be shown and sold.
